Test Engineer (HVP-DBB)

Texas Instruments•Dallas, TX

About The Position

Test engineers help determine where testing is most critical during integrated-circuit development and where testing risks may be acceptable, balancing product quality with the cost of testing at production scale. The role involves substantial laboratory work, designing test hardware with software tools such as Cadence, developing test programs on an ATE simulator, and troubleshooting test programs or devices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant semiconductor test experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electronic devices, circuits, and analog test techniques.
  • Data analysis skills using Spotfire, dataPower, or an equivalent tool based on STDF.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, sourcemeters, and loads.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Strong time-management skills that enable on-time project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive for results.

Nice To Haves

  • ATE experience with Teradyne Eagle or equivalent analog ATE, such as iFlex, LTX, or VLCT; Eagle experience is preferred and a differentiator.
  • Characterization test program and hardware development experience.
  • Production test program and hardware development experience.
  • Experience with product engineering activities such as yield improvement and test-time reduction.
  • Strong understanding of the IC product development process, from concept to volume production.
  • Mixed-signal test techniques and experience developing mixed-signal tests on TI roadmap testers.
  • Experience with test program and hardware offload to TI offshore manufacturing sites.
  • Programming or scripting proficiency in C++, Python, or C#.
  • LabVIEW or TestStand experience.
  • Experience with revision-control tools such as Subversion or Git.

Responsibilities

  • Identify critical device points that require testing and balance test coverage against production testing costs.
  • Work in the laboratory to test and characterize devices.
  • Design test hardware using software tools such as Cadence.
  • Develop test programs on an ATE simulator.
  • Troubleshoot test programs and devices.
