About The Position

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Test Engineer I or II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site. The Test Engineer in the Startup & Testing group plans, develops, and executes testing activities to ensure systems and equipment perform safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory and NQA 1 requirements. Analyze results, resolve technical issues, and support risk assessments, configuration management, and verification and validation efforts. Contributes to startup and commissioning programs, vendor testing, procedure development, and continuous improvement across testing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or High school diploma, with relevant work experience

  • Ability to walk down and perform tests on systems in the field

Responsibilities

  • Learns facility systems, testing principles, work control processes, NQA-1, NRC, DOE, and OSHA requirements to effectively perform assignments
  • Assists with test plans and schedules
  • Drafts portions of procedures under supervision
  • Performs testing under moderate supervision
  • Collects and records test data
  • Participates in hazard reviews
  • Understands and applies lockout/tagout and work control requirements
  • Supports verification activities
  • Understands configuration control requirements
  • Assists with calibration activities

  • Independently develops and revises test procedures
  • Independently executes component and system tests
  • Evaluates test data and identifies deficiencies
  • Supports MSAs, FSAs, PHAs, and risk assessments
  • Implements safe testing practices and pre-job briefings
  • Executes verification and validation testing
  • Verifies testing aligns with approved design documents
  • Calibrates and troubleshoots instrumentation
  • Investigates and resolves test discrepancies
  • Ensures assigned testing activities comply with regulations
  • Implements NQA-1 controls during testing activities
  • Independently executes startup and commissioning tests
  • Supports internal and external assessments
  • Coordinates vendor testing and acceptance activities
  • Supports operations and maintenance training
  • Leads small testing teams
  • Manages testing scope for assigned projects
  • Other duties as assigned
