We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Engineer to support the performance, reliability, and quality of our custom automation equipment and tooling systems. In this role, you will execute test procedures, troubleshoot automation technologies, document results, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance testing processes. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on automation experience who thrives in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years in a test technician or test engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience testing PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial automation systems.
  • Exposure to software/coding within automated systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings, including control diagrams and electrical/mechanical layouts.
  • Previous experience with PLC Studio 5000.
  • Ability to safely make 480VAC, 120VAC, and Ethernet connections.
  • Basic mechanical skills (e.g., removing VFD covers, aligning switches).
  • Familiarity with ISO or other quality standards.
  • Strong written communication skills for documenting technical assessments.
  • Ability to independently manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional and performance testing on automation tools, fixtures, and components.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls and software-related issues within test setups.
  • Manage test data, document results, and identify system flaws.
  • Record test outcomes, anomalies, and corrective actions in a clear, organized manner.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve test procedures and tooling designs.
  • Assist in the development, testing, and validation of new automation tools and fixtures.
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action plans for test failures.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed.
