About The Position

The Test Engineer develops semiconductor test tools for MOSFETs and diodes, including circuits, fixtures, and complete systems supporting voltages up to 10kV DC. The role involves hands-on prototyping, assembly, debugging, and validation, as well as integrating power supplies, measurement instruments, control hardware, and software. The engineer also writes or modifies basic code and scripts for equipment control, test automation, and data collection, and uses SQL to query and organize test data and support laboratory data applications. The position works with stakeholders to establish test requirements, operating parameters, project scope, and acceptance criteria. It supports existing laboratory equipment, troubleshoots hardware and software issues, manages competing priorities, and documents designs, wiring diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guidance. Appropriate safety controls must be incorporated into test-tool designs and validated. The role may involve working on energized systems to isolate faults and confirm circuit functionality.

Requirements

  • Practical experience with electronic circuit design, hardware integration, and bench troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with MOSFETs, diodes, and semiconductor testing.
  • Comfort using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other laboratory instruments.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills and working knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to developing and improving test equipment.
  • Self-motivated, with initiative to identify next steps and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance and recognize when additional support is needed.
  • Adaptability and organization, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration across engineering, software, purchasing, and laboratory teams.
  • Comfort working on energized systems when necessary to isolate faults and confirm circuit functionality.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in E.E. or another major.
