About The Position

This position provides technical project management for the Strategic Weapons System (SWS) for COLUMBIA class construction, test, and integration of SWS/SWSS equipment in Groton, Connecticut. It is an alternate work week position requiring the successful candidate to work full time on both Saturdays and Sundays. Work travel is required.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of submarine construction, test, operations, or planning experience, or a combination thereof.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Work travel is required.
• Project management experience.
• Microsoft Project experience.
• Good written and oral communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-starter.
• Presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of supervisory or area superintendent experience.
• Associate’s degree or higher.
• Ability to read system diagrams and similar engineering drawings.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
• Systems engineering capabilities.
• Working knowledge of existing EB policies and procedures for operations and planning.

Responsibilities

• Turn over with weekday leads and management to support weekend SWS continuity of operations.
• Provide technical support to optimize construction and test readiness by ensuring proper SWS/SWSS installation, design, and test requirements are met.
• Ensure construction and test readiness across GDEB areas, including operations, planning, program office, and engineering personnel.
• Align and expedite SWS/SWSS problem resolution to support ship certification and reduce schedule impacts of installation and test activities.
• Interface with internal and external senior leadership regarding scheduling and work performance in assigned areas.
• Identify construction, installation, and test areas for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build, maintain, and refine SWS/SWSS and other project schedules to support company objectives and key events.
• Coordinate SWS/SWSS installation and test efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
