About The Position

SAIC is seeking an Aircraft Battery Test Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN. This role provides direct engineering support to the Aircraft Battery Programs Special Programs and Airborne Battery System Programs. Support includes program systems engineering, test and evaluation of aircraft batteries, data analysis, analysis brief development and presentation, technical report generation, test documentation development, and program closeout requirements. The engineer will review technical documents to ensure they meet iPDM process requirements before government approval. Responsibilities also include applying mission profiles to commercial off-the-shelf test systems (e.g., Arbin) and LabView-driven modular systems. Future support will involve evaluating and implementing big data techniques for predictive analytics to identify failure modes and predict end-of-life characteristics for various lithium-ion and other aircraft battery chemistries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 or more years’ experience.
  • Ability to provide engineering support via data analysis and test system operations to the program leads.
  • Provide Systems Engineering support to manage programs throughout the year.
  • Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct engineering support to the Aircraft Battery Programs Special Programs.
  • Provide support to Airborne Battery System Programs.
  • Provide systems engineering support, test and evaluation of aircraft batteries, data analysis, analysis brief development and presentation, technical report generation, test documentation development support, and program closeout requirements.
  • Review all technical documents submitted by this customer Branch to ensure content meets iPDM process requirements before being approved by the Government.
  • Apply several mission profiles to a combination of commercial off the shelf test systems (Arbin for example) and LabView driven modular systems to perform various mission profiles.
  • Support the Government in evaluating, developing, and implementing a variety of big data techniques necessary to evaluate data sets to obtain predictive analytics in tasks to identify indicators of known and emerging failure modes as well as better predict end of life characteristics lithium ion aircraft and space cells/batteries and all chemistries of aircraft batteries.
