About The Position

RC4Vets LLC is seeking a Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment to ensure products perform to specifications. This role involves planning and arranging labor, schedules, and equipment for testing, as well as creating test cases and scenarios. The Test Engineer will compile data, define required changes, and report defects. Responsibilities include participating in product walkthroughs, potentially using automated testing, and consulting with development and requirements teams. The role also involves performing analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations, developing testing procedures, and creating test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. The Test Engineer will implement testing processes, track test metrics, and monitor for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis. Specific testing includes manual and automated testing of integrations, interfaces, data transfers, and APIs, as well as testing Web Services using tools like Ready API, Postman, Wave, and AMP. The role encompasses the End-to-End Software Testing Life Cycle, including testing, defect logging, verification of closure, and Root Cause Analysis. Functional testing (System, Regression, and User Acceptance) and Database Testing using SQL queries and simple scripts are also key responsibilities. A thorough understanding of integration requirements and mapping to user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases is essential. The role utilizes Jira for maintaining sprint test artifacts and X-RAY for test execution, and involves analysis of test results, defect management, reporting, and maintaining the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM). Experience in AWS Cloud and exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, and GitHub are required. Proactive communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, along with analytical and investigation skills, a willingness to learn, and troubleshooting ability are expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in computer science with 5-8 years (or commensurate experience)
  • Experience in Manual, Integration, Functional and Automated Testing.
  • Extensive Jira experience building test plans, issues and executions and creating report outputs.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive Integration & Interface Testing experience
  • Exposure to Corporate Database, MPI, VA Profile Database, existing API services in VA network, writing simple Oracle scripts for testing.
  • Experience with VA and/or other Federal Agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience working with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), NIST-800-53 guidance, HIPAA, and HITECH Act.
  • Well versed in Agile Methodology, the VA Veteran-Focused Integration Process (VIP) project management methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications.

  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.
