About The Position

Approximately 95% of the work involves actively correcting and remediating PDF documents — not just identifying issues. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Section 508 document remediation efforts in an Agile environment.

  • 1 year of experience working within Agile development environments and participating in Agile ceremonies and workflows. Certification(s) in agile methodology practices from an accredited institution may be substituted for the experience requirement.
  • Strong understanding of Section 508 requirements and best practices, as well as experience in web design, web development, and accessibility.
  • Experience using assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools such as JAWS, JAWSInspect, screen readers, and keyboard navigation techniques to evaluate Section 508 compliance and user accessibility needs.
  • Experience working with and managing accessibility testing, audits, and remediation.
  • Ability to articulate test results, user impacts and remediation options and provide a defensible rationale for accessibility compliance.
  • Experience with Atlassian software tools such as JIRA and Confluence, or related products designed for cross-team management of testing activities.
  • Professional experience collaborating with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Proficient in using routine computer applications, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Internet Explorer), Adobe Acrobat, JAWS, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and services that operate using these applications.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal suitability determination/public trust clearance.
