About The Position

General Matter is seeking an early-career Test Engineer to build, test, and validate the hardware behind advanced enrichment technology. This role involves owning test infrastructure, supporting the design, setup, and operation of tests for hardware evaluation, and collaborating closely with design engineers to ensure systems meet performance and reliability requirements. The position offers involvement throughout the development lifecycle, including developing test methods, troubleshooting, identifying improvements, and ensuring long-term hardware reliability. This is a strong opportunity for a recent graduate interested in hands-on experimentation, technical problem-solving, and understanding complex hardware behavior. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or similar engineering field.
1+ years of experience in hardware development, test engineering, experience via project team, research, internship, and/or professional experience.
Ability to design and fabricate test fixtures, adapters, and other tools needed for testing.
Experience with digital-hardware communication/integration.

Nice To Haves

Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA).
Experience with test equipment (data acquisition, instrumentation, pumps, valves, and automation).
Experience with the building and testing of fluid and/or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain custom test solutions and data acquisition systems for in-house developed mechanical and electrical hardware.
Lead design reviews, run data analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans.
Work closely with responsible design and manufacturing engineers to drive reliability improvements.
Build test equipment, implement test automation, analyze failures and execute qualification campaigns.
