About The Position

Dell Technologies is hiring a Test Engineer for its Manufacturing Engineering team in Franklin, Massachusetts. The role develops and documents test plans for newly developed and current hardware and solutions products. The Test Engineer partners with the test team during execution, reports results to development engineers and leadership, and works with external validation partners to develop comprehensive plans and test coverage across multiple test organizations. The position also supports manufacturing test processes, including weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Understanding of server hardware and software system architecture and their interactions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of computer network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VLANs.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with the Linux operating system, commands, and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide test engineering support for manufacturing test processes, including weekends as needed.
• Assist in collecting test requirements and creating basic test plans and test cases.
• Follow risk management plans and execute test automation scripts.
• Document test execution progress and issues.
• Mentor test technicians and share best practices.
• Partner with a test team during test execution and report results to development engineers and leadership.
• Work with external validation partners to develop comprehensive test plans and test coverage across multiple test organizations.
