About The Position

As an Exclusive Brands Test Engineer Intern, you’ll work alongside the Exclusive Brands Engineering team to help ensure products meet requirements and deliver a strong customer experience. Day to day, you’ll turn technical product specifications into test cases, explore opportunities to automate testing, execute tests, document results, and help resolve issues when a test does not perform as expected. A successful candidate will bring curiosity, attention to detail, strong organization, and an interest in using engineering and technology to solve problems. The most exciting part is seeing how your work contributes to the development and quality of products sold by one of the nation’s leading retailers. This internship will also provide you with the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, build your network with Best Buy employees, and explore a wide range of career paths. This internship will be available from June to August 2027. This role is onsite, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Friday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Internal Best Buy employees : a limited number of company-sponsored summer housing slots are available near corporate headquarters for hybrid/in-person roles for current Best Buy employees.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2027 and spring 2030
  • Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 5 days a week, Monday through Friday
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm (Central Time)
  • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 5/31/2027- 8/6/2027

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in the field of engineering and/or test engineering
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with electrical test equipment and software automation tools.
  • Experience with different software automation tools, such as LabView, Python, etc

Responsibilities

  • Use technical product specifications to research, develop, and automate new test cases that validate product requirements.
  • Execute newly developed test cases and evaluate their accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Document test case failures using established industry practices.
  • Review and revise failed test cases to address identified issues.
  • Execute regression testing on revised test cases to confirm that failures have been resolved.
