About The Position

In this role, you will support the development and execution of engineering tests that verify the safety, performance, and reliability of medical devices. The Test Engineer II works closely with cross‑functional partners including Research & Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory to support product development, verification and validation activities, and ongoing product lifecycle improvements. This role involves designing and executing test methods, analyzing data, and contributing technical expertise within laboratory environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering, testing, or laboratory experience in the medical device field OR a master’s degree with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with mechanical or materials testing systems.
Experience with fatigue testing, durability testing, or reliability evaluation.
Familiarity with microscopy techniques and materials analysis.
Experience with design verification and validation testing within a quality system environment.
Strong technical documentation and data analysis skills.
Experience operating a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for material characterization, surface analysis, and failure investigation.
Experience using Instron ElectroPuls systems for dynamic and fatigue testing of medical device components and materials.
Experience working in a cleanability laboratory environment supporting device cleaning validation and contamination assessment activities.
Ability to prepare samples, operate laboratory instrumentation, and document results in accordance with laboratory and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and document engineering test protocols and reports to support product verification and validation activities.
Design and implement test methods, fixtures, and equipment for evaluating medical device performance and reliability.
Analyze and interpret experimental data to support engineering decisions and product development activities.
Perform mechanical, materials, and functional testing on medical device components and assemblies.
Support failure analysis and root cause investigations using laboratory tools and analytical techniques.
Operate and maintain laboratory test equipment and ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and laboratory practices.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs.
Assist with test method validation, equipment qualification, and laboratory documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
Prepare technical reports and present test results to project teams and engineering leadership.
