About The Position

The Test Engineer I under direct supervision, assists in moderately complex assignments of the engineering test function associated with new product development and improving existing test methods. These include testing design efforts ranging from simple components to complex assemblies driven by customer or internal specifications. The Test Engineer I works in a multi-disciplinary team environment and is required to assist in proposal efforts and technical reviews.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of analog, mixed signal, or power circuits.
  • Demonstrated skills in LabVIEW, Python, or HTBasic for test automation.
  • Familiar with lab equipment such as multifunction oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, electronic loads, etc.
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to design experiments, analyze the data and perform structured problem solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of the test engineering team.
  • Ability to interface with customers and work effectively in a cross functional team.
  • Must possess good written communication skills to document technical specifications.
  • Good critical thinking and research skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree - Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Create automated electrical test software programs for multi-chip modules using Labview, Python, or HTBasic programming languages.
  • Use Visual Basic Applications for Excel to create macros for data analysis.
  • Design fundamental tests or test fixture circuitry to support automated testing by applying knowledge and principles of electronic theory, testing methodology and electronics engineering.
  • Aid in the electrical analysis of test requirements for analog, mixed signal, and power circuits.
  • Work concurrently with the product design team to implement new and adjust existing test requirements.
  • Prepare test plans and procedures from Customer and/or Engineering specifications.
  • Participate in continuous improvement test related activities.
  • Provide support to the operations team related to all test engineering activities.
