About The Position

We are currently hiring a Test Engineer 1 to support our global client onsite in Boise, Idaho. This role is technical in nature and the ideal candidate would benefit from experience in an ever-evolving R&D team culture. This is a full-time position which offers comprehensive benefits. The candidate must be local to the Boise area to be able to work a 100% onsite standard work week with regular working hours.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of HP family of Printers with a good understanding of HP printer features and functionality.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required with the ability to effectively communicate with varied levels of employees.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments and situations.
  • Proven ability to multitask across projects.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to follow detailed directions.
  • At minimum, intermediate user knowledge and experience with PC's including Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and Access with comfortability navigating and viewing web pages.
  • Minimum educational level expectation is a high school diploma or has passed GED (General Educational Development) examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct manual and automated system-level performance testing of Multi-Function Printers (MFPs) to validate product functionality, reliability, and certification requirements.
  • Execute testing activities in strict accordance with established processes, procedures, and quality standards to ensure certification compliance and data integrity.
  • Collect and analyze diagnostic logs, collaborating with Lab Engineers to investigate, reproduce, and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and performance-related issues.
  • Document, track, and manage product defects through Jira, providing detailed reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
  • Record and maintain test results within performance certification databases, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of validation data.
  • Support printer lifecycle management by maintaining, configuring, and upgrading printer hardware, firmware, and test environments as required.
  • Assist cross-functional engineering teams in defect triage, root-cause analysis, and verification of corrective actions to improve overall product quality and performance.
  • Flexibility to support other labs and projects, as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
