About The Position

At Capgemini Engineering, the world leader in engineering services, we bring together a global team of engineers, scientists, and architects to help the world’s most innovative companies unleash their potential. From autonomous cars to life-saving robots, our digital and software technology experts think outside the box as they provide unique R&D and engineering services across all industries. Join us for a career full of opportunities. Where you can make a difference. Where no two days are same. This is an onsite role in Hillsboro, OR. We are looking for a hands-on Test Architect to own the end-to-end test strategy for an aircraft-wide, edge-compute application hosting platform spanning hardware, embedded software, connectivity, AI-driven features, and a multi-tenant application ecosystem. This role blends strategic ownership (defining and evolving the detailed test strategy), technical leadership (guiding and mentoring the test team), and hands-on execution (test plan execution and building automation frameworks/scripts). The ideal candidate is equally comfortable authoring a test architecture document and writing automation code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years in software/systems testing, with at least 2–3 years in a test architect, lead, or principal test engineer capacity.
  • Proven experience defining test strategy for a complex, multi-component or platform-level system (not just single-application testing).
  • Strong hands-on experience building test automation frameworks (not just using existing ones) — e.g., API-level automation, UI automation, performance/load testing tools.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests as pipeline gates.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the overall test strategy, architecture, and governance across functional, integration, system, performance, security, connectivity, and CI/CD testing.
  • Define test approaches, coverage models, entry/exit criteria, and release quality gates for all platform and application layers.
  • Design and manage test environments and lab infrastructure, including physical labs, virtual/simulated environments, and network emulation setups.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional QA/testing team, providing technical guidance, best practices, and quality assurance oversight.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for releases and sprints, ensuring effective coverage across end-to-end testing activities.
  • Monitor test execution, defect trends, risk assessments, and release readiness, driving root-cause analysis and regression impact evaluation.
  • Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and expanding automation coverage.
  • Own Jira/Xray traceability and test reporting, ensuring requirement-to-test mapping, defect tracking, audit readiness, and certification-supporting test evidence.

Benefits

  • Paid time off based on employee grade (A-F), defined by policy: Vacation: 12-25 days, depending on grade, Company paid holidays, Personal Days, Sick Leave
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage (or provincial healthcare coordination in Canada)
  • Retirement savings plans (e.g., 401(k) in the U.S., RRSP in Canada)
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Employee assistance programs
  • Other benefits as provided by local policy and eligibility
