About The Position

SPT Labtech is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for the Central region, covering Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. This role involves owning the annual sales territory for SPT Labtech's liquid handling portfolio. Responsibilities include product demonstrations, outbound lead generation, and trade shows. The position requires working collaboratively with an experienced sales team, applications, and marketing teams, while managing the pipeline end-to-end and building trusted relationships with genomics, protein crystallization, and drug discovery labs. SPT Labtech, based in Cambridge, UK, provides innovative solutions for liquid handling, sample preparation, and sample management to accelerate research and improve human health.

Requirements

  • Ideally located in the Texas area with an established network.
  • 5+ years of experience in a capital equipment sales role in the Life Sciences market.
  • Experience selling automated liquid handling technologies or familiarity with lab automation solutions.
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a Life Science discipline.
  • Familiarity with CRM use as a central sales tool.
  • Proven success and ability to develop business.
  • Ability to effectively make formal and informal product presentations to individuals as well as to large groups.
  • Autonomous, team player and capable of working remotely.

Nice To Haves

  • A background in Genomics or Protein Crystallography is advantageous.
  • Experience with Salesforce would be desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Promotion, market development and sales of SPT Labtech’s liquid handling and sample management product lines into the genomics, protein crystallization, and drug discovery market(s) across your sales territory
  • Managing every pre-sale activity until purchase order and supporting post sales activities.
  • Working independently and collaborating closely with sales specialists, support, product management and marketing teams.
  • Scheduling and conducting product presentations and demonstrations to customers.
  • Achieving the 10 missions listed in the job description, which include presenting the company, managing the customer database, organizing work time, respecting company priorities, developing and following up on opportunities, building consultative relationships, positioning SPT solutions, commanding product knowledge, maintaining application knowledge, and being responsible for CRM data and management.
