About The Position

Busch Vacuum Solutions is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for a direct-hire opportunity. This role requires residency in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, or Alabama and involves up to 75% travel with moderate overnight stays. The ideal candidate is self-driven with technical sales acumen for capital equipment and applicable equipment/customer experience. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and overseeing sales operations within their designated territory, actively selling products/services, and managing a team of 3-5 Sales Managers. This role demands a hands-on approach to sales, leadership, and strategy development to ensure successful execution of sales initiatives. The position reports directly to the Sales Director, and the individual will collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in territory management and managing a sales team.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, market analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed within the assigned territory.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, prior experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification (SSGI)
  • Certified Plant Engineer (CPE)

Responsibilities

  • Actively generate new business opportunities and manage key accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential clients to drive sales success.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align on promotional strategies and market expansion initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor 3-5 Sales Managers to ensure optimal performance and development.
  • Set clear sales targets and KPIs for your team, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate sales performance, providing ongoing feedback and support for team development.
  • Organize regular sales meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to ensure a competitive advantage.
  • Provide product knowledge and sales tools to your team, ensuring they are equipped for success.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide feedback and insights from the field.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, forecasts, and market conditions to senior leadership.
  • Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Prepare and present business reviews for senior management.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments such as marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure smooth sales operations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalated client issues or concerns within the territory.
