About The Position

This is a field-based sales position within the Piramal Critical Care division, focusing on promoting products to hospitals, clinics, and physician offices, particularly in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and with Institutional Pharmacists. The role requires guiding clinicians on best practice techniques and effectively communicating product advantages in a competitive market. A strong understanding of the Buy/Bill process, GPO contracting, reimbursement, and new product acquisition within hospital systems is crucial for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree majoring in Business or Human Sciences
  • Minimum five years of sales experience with a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturer with a buy and bill model
  • Proven sales experience, preferably in dealing with intrathecal therapies
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Experience forecasting sales and using an established CRM system
  • A working knowledge of all elements of the branded pharmaceutical sales and marketing functions
  • Strong understanding of the changing healthcare reimbursement environment
  • Excellent computer and database skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Enjoy working both individually and collaboratively
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Manages a large territory (frequently multiple states) of existing accounts while converting new customers and growing market share
  • Develops and maintains the highest level of product, technical, and therapy knowledge associated with Intrathecal therapies for Pain and Spasticity
  • Develops and communicates a comprehensive business plan (monthly and quarterly) to meet and exceed quarterly goals
  • Works with the existing CRM system daily to input and forecast sales for the territory for the upcoming month and quarter
  • Ensures timely follow-up and prompt resolution to customer and patient technical and product issues, including after-hours support as needed
  • Uses executive selling skills to negotiate pricing contracts and drive contract compliance
  • Gathers market intelligence by observation, discussion or research to include customers, competitors, suppliers and anyone else affected by the products
