About The Position

The Territory Manager will be responsible for marketing and selling Neptune products to water utilities within an assigned geographic area. This role involves managing, training, challenging, and supporting distributors, as well as providing input and feedback to the Regional Manager regarding customer needs, industry trends, and new product ideas. The Territory Manager will develop sales and account strategies, provide ongoing forecast and pipeline updates, and participate in collections when necessary. The primary objectives include increasing market share, sales volume, and profitability by developing and maintaining the pipeline for AMR/AMI opportunities, supporting customers and distributors, and utilizing negotiation skills. The role also requires developing and implementing sales plans, managing distributors through joint business plans and sales calls, analyzing territory coverage, determining and increasing market share, providing superior customer service, maintaining product knowledge, and monitoring expenses and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • 2 years related sales experience preferred
  • Travel required

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing forecast and long-term pipeline updates.
  • Participate in collections when necessary.
  • Increase market share, sales volume, and profitability in assigned territory in coordination with company sales objectives.
  • Develop and maintain the pipeline for AMR/AMI opportunities and supporting customers and distributors to achieve objectives.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to optimize value.
  • Develop and implement sales plans and strategies for accounts to support overall company objectives.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer and distributor relationships.
  • Manage distributors by developing joint business plans, making joint sales calls, and setting realistic sales goals.
  • Analyze territory to ensure optimum direct and indirect coverage while managing distributors.
  • Determine NTG market share by state and develop and implement plan to increase.
  • Provide superior service to all customers and distributors including material returns and credits, delivery information, warranty claims, etc.
  • Maintain understanding and knowledge of products.
  • Monitor expenses and complete monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
