About The Position

This territory manager develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of products and services. The role involves selecting appropriate products based on customer needs and regulations, negotiating prices and terms, and ensuring high post-sales satisfaction by fostering long-term customer relationships. The manager will also set account and territory plans, focus on local market accounts and prospects, and may coach less experienced sales representatives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong abilities in building relationships, listening, persuading, negotiating, and managing time.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate industry and product knowledge.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management software.

  • HVAC industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections based on customer needs, product specifications and applicable regulations.
  • Negotiate prices, terms of sale and service agreements.
  • Ensures high post-sales satisfaction by facilitating positive, long-term relationships and high potential for repeat business with customers.
  • Sets account and territory plans on an annual, quarterly and monthly basis.
  • Generally focuses on local market accounts and prospects, and may be responsible for a limited number key or named accounts.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives as needed.
