Supervises Terrain Park Day Crew within Terrain Park Department, provides input to management regarding design, layout, construction, and maintenance of Freestyle Terrain. Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is constantly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied and, in many cases, include steep stairways, multi-level buildings, and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet, or very sunny work sites.
  • Some facilities are located at the base or bottom of the area, and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chairlifts, skis, or snowboards.
  • Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped, and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out.
  • Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required, will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays

  • In addition to the specific conditions below, every position at Mt. Bachelor requires the ability to shovel snow and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.
  • Current Hiring Rate: $25/hr
  • Minimum Age Requirement: 21+

  • Assist with Bike Park operations as needed during spring/summer/fall seasons.
  • Communicate and direct nightly build tasks with terrain park grooming staff on the terrain park manager’s days off.
  • Assist Terrain Park Manager with short- and long-term design and layout goals.
  • Assist in the construction of jib features (boxes, rails, wall rides, etc) when necessary.
  • Assist in mid/end-of-season evaluations for the terrain park day crew.
  • Assist when needed in payroll functions.
  • Assist in the hiring process for the Terrain Park Day Crew.
  • Assisting in jib fleet maintenance, bike park operations, and any other shoulder season tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the organized daily opening, closing, and maintenance of each Terrain Park/Halfpipe.
  • Daily supervision of Terrain Park Day Crew (20+).
  • Delegate and distribute tasks to the Terrain Park Day Crew amongst the various Terrain Parks at Mt. Bachelor to ensure consistent Terrain Park Staff presence to Mountain guests during operating hours.
  • Assist with Bike Park operations as needed during spring/summer/fall seasons.
  • Communicate and direct nightly build tasks with terrain park grooming staff on the terrain park manager’s days off.
  • Ensure proper documentation and processes while conducting incident investigations.
  • Assist Terrain Park Manager with short- and long-term design and layout goals.
  • Train Terrain Park Day Crew on proper feature maintenance (raking, shoveling, welding).
  • Responsible for submitting and producing all daily terrain park logs and maps.
  • Set an example for the Terrain Park Day Crew by practicing safe riding habits while providing excellent customer service.
  • Authority to make decisions in all terrain parks regarding the opening and closing of freestyle features.
  • Regular meetings with the Terrain Park Manager and staff for long- and short-term planning.
  • Assist in the construction of jib features (boxes, rails, wall rides, etc) when necessary.
  • Be a presence in the terrain park, rain or shine.
  • Assist in mid/end-of-season evaluations for the terrain park day crew.
  • Assist when needed in payroll functions.
  • Assist in the hiring process for the Terrain Park Day Crew.
  • Assisting in jib fleet maintenance, bike park operations, and any other shoulder season tasks as needed.
  • Employees may be asked to perform other duties or assist in efforts outside their primary area of responsibility as needed, including performing in any subordinate position.
