The Terminal Manager will plan, direct, and control operations of the local and Over-the-Road transportation system, ensuring safe and efficient utilization of staff and equipment to meet corporate operational requirements.
Requirements
- Class A CDL
- General Transportation Industry knowledge
- DOT Regulations knowledge
- Previous Experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage the profit and loss of the Transportation Division.
- Establish and enforce administrative policies and procedures.
- Evaluate reports of truck and freight movements, accidents, weather conditions, and other factors influencing operations to make decisions affecting service.
- Develop efficient equipment and personnel schedules.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance of equipment, and recommend capital investments for equipment and facilities.
- Investigate causes of accidents and delays in traffic and take steps to ensure they do not recur.
- Review complaints from shippers and customers regarding substandard service and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Confer with government regulatory commissions to ensure compliance with Federal and State Transportation regulations.
- Confer with other corporate departments to establish efficient and effective schedules and routes.
- Inspect assigned facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Negotiate and enter contracts for additional drivers, equipment, and carriers when needed to meet demand.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor.
