About The Position

Universal Intermodal Services is seeking a forward-thinking, highly motivated Terminal Manager for its Baltimore, Maryland terminal. The role is in a fast-paced environment and supports the company’s intermodal operations, which include drayage, container yard management, maintenance and repair, domestic containers, and intermodal flatbed services. The Terminal Manager oversees staff and terminal operations, works with customers to ensure satisfaction, manages dispatch activity and operating procedures, and reviews financial and operational performance.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of management experience in an intermodal or drayage environment.
• Knowledge of customs and international shipping regulations.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and AS400.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to delegate and enforce company policy.
• Energetic, competitive, and career-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage staff, including supervisory, clerical, and labor personnel.
• Recruit company drivers.
• Manage dispatch orders and moves.
• Manage internal operating policies and procedures.
• Interact with customers daily and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Review monthly profit and loss statements.
• Prepare or oversee reports on production, quality, timeliness, staffing, billing, and discrepancies.
