About The Position
This posting is for a Term Teacher position at Dalbrae Academy. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established to deliver the public school program focusing on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and serves a jurisdiction encompassing the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness and Richmond.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
- Excellent classroom and student management skills
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
- Mi'kmaw descent
- Classroom experience teaching Mi'kmaw language
- Proficient in Mi'kmaw language - both oral and written
- Major/Minor in Social Studies
- Provide at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor
- Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment
