About The Position

This role involves managing and optimizing Teradata applications, focusing on database administration, ETL processes, performance tuning, and supporting end-users and development teams. The position requires a strong understanding of Teradata environments, scripting, and data loading techniques, as well as the ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Requirements

8+ years’ experience with Teradata V17+
5+ years’ experience in ETL using awk and Shell Scripting in a Unix/Linux environment
5+ years’ experience with Teradata Utilities (TPT, Mload, Fastload, BTEQ, etc.)
3-5+ years’ experience with performance tuning within a Teradata environment (SQL Joins, Indexes, Viewpoint, Explains)
3-5+ years’ experience in loading data from multiple source systems
3-5+ years’ experience SQL Skills that include working with joins, indexes, partitions at table level and performance tuning skillsets
1+ years’ experience with BI reporting tool along with basic modelling operations and maintenance issues.
Experience working with end users/customers to understand system and business issues and perform technical analysis to develop solutions
Ability to provide targeted training and technical guidance to development teams for troubleshooting and batch support
Must be able to work independently and not rely on team members
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector.
Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations.

Nice To Haves

Certified Teradata Master
Experience maintaining Dashboards and other basic reports related to data warehouse on a daily basis.
Experience with Teradata Studio/Teradata SQL Assistant
Experience with cloud based BI tools/Data Warehouse implementations
Previous experience with State Government

Responsibilities

Manage and optimize Teradata applications.
Perform ETL using awk and Shell Scripting in a Unix/Linux environment.
Utilize Teradata Utilities (TPT, Mload, Fastload, BTEQ, etc.).
Tune performance within a Teradata environment (SQL Joins, Indexes, Viewpoint, Explains).
Load data from multiple source systems.
Work with joins, indexes, and partitions at the table level.
Support BI reporting tools, including basic modeling operations and maintenance.
Collaborate with end-users/customers to understand system and business issues and develop solutions.
Provide training and technical guidance to development teams for troubleshooting and batch support.
Work independently and effectively.
Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including programmers, analysts, management, system users, operations, other State agencies, and the private sector.
Analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and recommendations.
