Two Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Macroeconomics

College of the Holy Cross•Worcester, MA

About The Position

The Department of Economics and Accounting at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions specializing in macroeconomics, beginning in August 2027. Appointments may be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (without tenure) level. Strong preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests include macro development, economic growth, monetary economics, international economics, or financial economics. The successful candidates will develop effective and engaging teaching practices in elective courses related to their research and core courses such as Quantitative Macroeconomics. They will complement the department’s curricular and scholarly breadth, establish and maintain an active program of scholarly research in their discipline or across disciplines, supervise student research, and participate as engaged members of the department and College communities. Each position has a 3-2 teaching load. New full-time tenure-track faculty receive research and professional development start-up funding and a one-course reduction in their first year of teaching, resulting in a 2-2 load. Faculty who enter as assistant professors with less than three years of credit toward their tenure clock also receive a pre-tenure research leave of either one full year at 80% salary or one semester at full salary. This leave is not available to untenured associate professors or to assistant professors who claim three years of tenure-clock credit. The positions offer full benefits. Salaries depend on appointment level and prior experience: $123,000 for an assistant professor with no prior tenure-track experience or one year of experience at another institution; $127,800–$131,400 for an assistant professor with two or more years of prior tenure-track experience; and $134,400–$137,400 for an untenured associate professor. The College emphasizes the connection between academic excellence and inclusive excellence.
