The Aeronautical Science Department in the College of Aviation (COA) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University—Daytona Beach invites applications for a Tenure-Track 9-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The qualified candidate will teach courses held in the Department of Aeronautical Science for both the Aeronautical Science and Aeronautics undergraduate degree programs. They will also demonstrate an active or promising research agenda in areas of study consistent with flight operations or other aviation related subjects. Excellence in teaching and the growth of a well-developed research portfolio are our top priority. Other priorities include service to the university and a strong commitment to student mentorship. The qualified candidate will have a broad base of knowledge and experience in the operation of large-transport category aircraft or high performance aircraft used in commercial aircraft transportation. Courseware may include requisite material based in large transport category flight operations, crew resource management, aviation safety, domestic and international navigation, aircraft systems, and other content areas brought forth through course/department expansion. The appropriate candidate will hold an earned doctorate in a related field from an accredited institution and will possess a strong interest in advancing aviation education and research through a strong record of publishing and grant procurement. About the Department of Aeronautical Science The Aeronautical Science (AS) Department hosts the largest degree program for professional pilots in the world and is one of the largest departments on the Daytona Beach Campus. It houses three undergraduate degree programs focusing on professional aviation, which include the Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science, Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and Bachelor of Science in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems.
