About The Position

Glen Kernan Club is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Tennis Court Maintenance Associate to help keep our courts in top playing condition. We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, notices the little details, and takes genuine pride in keeping things in excellent condition. No tennis court maintenance experience? No problem! Experience is a plus, but it's not required—we're happy to train the right person. We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of their work. Morning availability is required Sunday through Wednesday, from 6:30–11:00 AM. Requirements

• Two years of tennis court maintenance or maintenance experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
• Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and punctuality of the role.
• Good organizational and verbal skills.
• Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
• Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 80 lbs. and up to 40 lbs. frequently.
• Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting.
• Ability to consistently lift, carry and load adaptive and other sports equipment that may weigh 50 or more pounds, and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tennis courts and Sports Facility complex area in a professional manner and ensure that the environment is consistently safe for all those who use the facility.
• Responsible for inspecting all courts and for opening procedures, maintenance, repair and grooming.
• Responsible for scrubbing, line and debris removal, cleaning, drying and general upkeep of clay courts, rolling and brushing of courts.
• Make sure all surrounding areas (i.e. tennis courts, fitness facility, pool, and playground) are maintained and daily opening procedures are followed according to daily assignment to meet Club standard.
• Responsible for mid-day procedures such as watering of the courts, sweeping and other duties.
• Responsible for any daily upkeep duties such as repair to the courts, cleaning water coolers and replacing ice and water.
• Trash pick-up and removal for playground, fitness facility, tennis courts, pool and surrounding sports complex.
• Responsible for closing procedures such as sweeping courts and line and other duties as required by the Supervisor.
• Communicate to the Pro Shop any changes in court conditions.
• Participate in the court resurfacing program in coordination with the supervisor’s schedule.
• Preparation and assignment of tasks for self and Court Maintenance Staff during rain day(s).
• Pick up off-site supplies as needed or directed.
• Ongoing development of skills in other areas of court maintenance.
• Responsible for daily court maintenance during tournaments, Member events, exhibitions and special events.
• Perform light handy work and basic repairs around the tennis courts and surrounding areas, including fencing, benches, signage, and equipment as needed.
• Assist with small maintenance projects, including minor painting, power washing, and general upkeep tasks to ensure the facilities remain in excellent condition.
• Protect the assets of the club.

• Demonstrates courtesy to all Members and Guests at all times.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports.
