About The Position

The Elementary Tennis Coach & PE Teacher provides fun, engaging tennis classes for elementary-school students in grades K–5, managing student participation and encouraging physical activity in a supportive environment. Classes take place at elementary schools across the Bay Area and serve groups of 8–16 students, ages 5–10. Coaches use provided lesson plans, prepare and transport equipment, handle attendance and sign-in/out procedures, communicate with parents and school staff, provide feedback on student progress, and take photos during sessions.

The schedule is flexible. Classes last 1–1.5 hours and start between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Coaches work two or more days per week, for a maximum of 2–5 hours weekly. The role requires reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula. Candidates must be local to the US or have a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Requirements

• Be at least 19 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have a passion for working with children and creating a positive learning atmosphere.
• Have strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
• Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Be local to the US or possess a valid working visa; visa assistance is not provided.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience teaching or playing tennis.
• USPTA or PTR certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage classes of 8–16 students ages 5–10.
• Teach tennis using provided lesson plans.
• Attend a maximum two-day unpaid training or shadowing session.
• Transport and set up tennis equipment for each class.
• Take attendance and manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
• Communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
• Provide constructive feedback on each student’s progress.
• Take photos of students during sessions.
