About The Position

This is a temporary assignment. The length of the temporary assignment will be determined based on project needs. A temporary worker is an employee who works less than 4 1/2 months in a school year. Note: If you are a member of the Teacher Retirement System (TRS), please contact TRS at 1-800-223-8778 before applying for this opportunity. Depending on your individual date of retirement, you may have restrictions on the number of hours allowed to work each month without loss of annuity and incurring payroll and/or TRS Care surcharges. Therefore, we are advising that all retirees contact TRS to discuss their individual restrictions, if any, in order to make good decisions prior to accepting any position with CFISD. It is ultimately the responsibility of each retiree to be aware of his/her status to prevent any loss of funds.

Requirements

  • Student Employment: Recommendation from a District department or campus.
  • Student Employment: At least 14 years old and currently enrolled in middle or high school.
  • Student Employment: Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.
  • Student Employment: Ability to demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude, maintain confidentiality, and abide by the policies of the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District.
  • Adult Employment: Recommendation from a District department or campus.
  • Adult Employment: Must have met requirements for hire for the selected position.
  • Adult Employment: Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.
  • Adult Employment: Ability to demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude, maintain confidentiality, and abide by the policies of the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District.

Nice To Haves

  • Adult Employment: High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred for all positions.
  • Adult Employment: Bachelor's degree or higher from recognized, accredited college or university preferred for tutors and/or professional positions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for various duties assigned by department supervisors, campus leaders, or other staff members.
