About The Position
Springfield Public Schools is accepting applications for Temporary Summer Employment in its Transportation Department. Various positions are available, including Bus Drivers, Type-10 Van Drivers, Transportation Bus Assistants, Utility Transportation Workers, and Assistant Driver Trainer. Routes and hours are subject to change and cancellation. Assignments may overlap due to labor shortages.
Requirements
- Class B Commercial Driver's License (for Bus Drivers)
- Oregon Department of Education School Bus Driver's Certificate (for Bus Drivers)
- Valid ODL (for Type-10 Van Drivers)
- ODE Type-10 Certificate (for Type-10 Van Drivers)
- Current SPS Bus Drivers receive current hourly rate.
- Current SPS Van Drivers receive current hourly rate.
- Current SPS EA’s will be paid their current hourly rate.
- All other SPS employees or non-SPS employees-$18.87/hour (for Bus Assistants).
- $18.01/hour for all others with valid credentials (for Type-10 Van Drivers).
- $18.87/hour (for Utility Transportation Workers).
- $21.63/hour (for Assistant Driver Trainer).
- Current SPS Assistant Trainers, current hourly rate (for Assistant Driver Trainer).
Responsibilities
- Operate school bus routes.
- Operate Type-10 van routes.
- Assist bus drivers on routes.
- Perform utility transportation duties.
- Assist with driver training.
