About The Position

Come be a part of the JMU community and a valuable member of the Housekeeping team!

James Madison University’s Facilities Management Department is accepting
applications for multiple Temporary Summer Housekeeping Workers. Work is 20-40
hours per week starting as early as May 4th and going as late as August 21st,
2026. Typical work schedule is Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and
Friday 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. 14/15 year old employees will not work more than 8
hours in one day.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding job duties.
• Must be 14 years of age or older by the start date.

Nice To Haves

• Housekeeping experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas using manual tools such as brooms and mops and power equipment such as vacuums and auto scrubbers.
• Assigned duties will depend on employee's age.
