Works under immediate supervision to provide clerical and/or typing support in performance of variety of office duties which may be simple to moderately complex in nature. This position involves leading fire type classification and burned area mapping across Texas using multi-temporal Landsat/Sentinel imagery, vegetation indices, and machine learning classifiers (random forest). Responsibilities include: processing large geospatial datasets with reproducible R/Python workflows; modeling climatic and anthropogenic drivers of fire severity, linking fire data to population/exposure health outcomes; and authoring manuscripts. Various administrative and clerical assignments filled on an as needed basis. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
