About The Position

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals to advance its mission of patient care, research, teaching, and community service. This role provides administrative support to healthcare providers in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, acting as the primary interface between patients and the medical team. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, diagnostic testing, and surgeries; acquiring referrals and pre-certifications; registering and updating patient information; collecting co-payments and fees; coordinating billing details; answering and triaging phone calls; and performing general office duties such as photocopying, faxing, and filing. The position requires flexibility due to varying clinical practice needs.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience in a healthcare or customer service setting required for Level I role.
  • Proven understanding of managed care and other insurance-related coverage plans.
  • Digital literacy, including proficiency with Windows-based computer applications.
  • Proven, accurate typing and data entry skills.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Qualified individuals must be available to complete a three-day, Epic training program.
  • Must be able to work at least 30 hours, Monday-Friday, days.
  • Must be a quick study, with a "can-do," positive demeanor.
  • Proven track record to be reliable, flexible and punctual.
  • Possess a professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to work optimally as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of EPIC, MEDITECH & BICS software a plus!
  • Additional experience required for higher level positions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to healthcare providers within a fast-paced ambulatory setting.
