About The Position

Provide administrative support in University Health Services, primarily in Gynecology and Primary Care Clinic (Second Floor).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience with clerical functions working in the front office of a healthcare/medical facility
  • Experience collecting/verifying health insurance information
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a professional demeanor
  • Accuracy in grammar and punctuation
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal training and supervision
  • Flexibility with shifting priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Exhibits customer service-oriented behavior and excellent public relation skills in all aspects of work
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Nice To Haves

  • More than the required years of experience with clerical functions
  • Certificate of completion of Medical Assistant program
  • Experience working in the front office of a healthcare/medical clinic
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Word, Excel software Windows environment
  • Experience working in a student health center

Responsibilities

  • Front office duties, such as: greets students and initiates check-in and check-out procedures
  • Manages incoming and outgoing telephone calls for department
  • Schedules new and follow-up appointments
  • Readily accepts other responsibilities and participates in other activities and committees as assigned, including providing back-up support for UHS laboratory Check-In desk
  • Works overtime, weekends, evenings and holiday as needed
  • Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern
  • Exhibits behaviors consistent with organizational values by demonstrating respect and professionalism, adhering to customer service standards and policies, maintaining patient confidentiality, and actively engaging in quality improvement efforts
