About The Position

In this challenging role, you will be supporting the DHG-Dental Hygiene department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following. Assists students in acquiring knowledge, psychomotor skills and affective skills necessary in preparation for taking the National Registry exam and practicing as an entry level practitioner in Dental Hygiene Teaches classroom/laboratory instruction/evaluation and clinical supervision/evaluation Participates in curriculum development and evaluation Participates in student recruitment, advising, and retention Maintains clinical site identifications Maintains competence through continuous professional development Participates on college/division/departmental committees and/or teams Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor Greenville Technical College is one of the largest institutions of higher learning in South Carolina and we invite you to consider becoming a part of our team! Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or an associate degree and enrolled in a bachelor degree program with evidence of progress towards completion of bachelor degree
  • Licensed in SC as a dental hygienist or dentist
  • Demonstrated competencies in the dental assisting field
  • Current Licensures/Certificates

Nice To Haves

  • Appropriate knowledge/skills to teach all dental hygiene and dental assisting classes
  • Teaching experience
  • Hold credential or willing to take the South Carolina local anesthesia exam
  • Hold a current CDA credentials with the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) or willing to complete the exam upon employment
  • Ability for collaboration and coordination of teaching responsibilities with other members of the faculty
  • Function independently, use discretion as it relates to teaching duties
  • Critical thinking skills sufficient for clinical judgment
  • Communication abilities sufficient for interaction with others in verbal/written form
