About The Position

GEDC is seeking a dedicated and motivated Temporary Dental Hygiene Assistant to join its dental practice. The assistant works closely with the dental hygienist to provide patient care and support an efficient dental hygiene process. Duties include preparing treatment rooms, assisting with dental procedures, maintaining sterilization protocols, educating patients on oral hygiene, managing records and appointments, and performing basic administrative tasks. Requirements

• 1–3 years of proven experience as a Dental Hygiene Assistant or Dental Assistant.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• X-ray certification may be required depending on state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Additional certification as a Dental Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Assist the dental hygienist during oral exams, teeth cleanings, and other dental procedures.
• Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dental hygienist or dentist.
• Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-treatment instructions.
• Manage patient records and accurately update dental charts.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments while ensuring a seamless patient experience.
• Perform basic administrative tasks, such as answering phones and managing patient paperwork.
