Temporary Helper, Raw Materials Development
About The Position
The Temporary Helper, Raw Materials Development supports administrative activities for the Raw Materials team and interfaces with Design and Product Development as needed. The role works daily with Raw Materials teams in New York, China, and Hong Kong, and reports to Raw Materials Management in New York. This is a six-month assignment with hourly pay of $29–$31. The position helps organize the raw material library and maintain development trial, approval, and color-standard records. It supports Design meetings by preparing presentation materials, locating requested swatches, labeling incoming fabric headers, following up on missing pricing information, and moving material references between office floors. The role also tracks development packages arriving at the New York office and arranges daily shipments to mills, tanneries, and company offices.
Requirements
- BS/BA/BFA degree.
- Strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment.

Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain the raw material library.
- Keep material development trial and approval records neatly filed.
- Assist with labeling, shipping, and internal filing of seasonal approved Color Master references.
- Collaborate with CFT to maintain a full set of updated color standards.
- Assist with Design meeting preparation, including presentation boards, bins, and racks.
- Locate leather and fabric swatches requested during milestone meetings.
- Label incoming fabric headers with accurate article and pricing information.
- Follow up with suppliers for missing pricing information.
- Facilitate movement of material references between the 8th and 11th floors for development and review.
- Monitor tracking of development packages arriving at the New York office.
- Arrange daily shipments to mills, tanneries, and Hong Kong/DG offices.
