About The Position

The Temporary Helper, Raw Materials Development supports administrative activities for the Raw Materials team and interfaces with Design and Product Development as needed. The role works daily with Raw Materials teams in New York, China, and Hong Kong, and reports to Raw Materials Management in New York. This is a six-month assignment with an hourly pay range of $29–$31.

Responsibilities include organizing the raw material library, maintaining development and approval records, supporting color-standard references, preparing for Design meetings, locating material swatches, following up on missing supplier pricing, moving material references between floors, tracking incoming development packages, and arranging shipments to suppliers and company offices.

Requirements

• BS/BA/BFA degree.
• Strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the raw material library.
• Keep material development trials and approval records neatly filed.
• Assist with labeling, shipping, and internal filing of seasonal approved Color Master references.
• Collaborate with CFT to maintain a full set of updated color standards.
• Prepare for Design meetings by organizing presentation boards, bins, and racks.
• Locate leather and fabric swatches requested during milestone meetings.
• Label incoming fabric headers with accurate article and pricing information.
• Follow up with suppliers for missing pricing information.
• Facilitate movement of material references between the 8th and 11th floors for development and review.
• Monitor tracking of development packages arriving at the New York office.
• Arrange daily shipments to mills, tanneries, and Hong Kong/Dongguan offices.
