We are seeking an experienced Temporary Garment Measurer to support quality-control operations within our Los Angeles distribution center. This position is responsible for accurately measuring finished garments against established specifications and identifying measurement or construction discrepancies prior to product distribution. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience measuring apparel, reading garment specifications, understanding garment construction terminology, and working accurately with fractions and detailed measurement requirements.

Requirements

  • Prior professional experience measuring finished apparel is required.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and apparel measurement terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret garment specifications and points of measure.
  • Strong working knowledge of fractions and precise garment measurements.
  • Ability to accurately use measuring tapes and other basic garment-measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and understand English-language specifications and measurement instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or out-of-tolerance product.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established quality procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience within an apparel quality-control, technical design, production, manufacturing, or distribution environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Measure finished garments flat on a table according to established measurement specifications and quality standards.
  • Review and interpret garment measurement specifications, construction information, and related documentation.
  • Accurately measure designated points of measure, which may include: Waist Hip Low hip Front and back leg measurements Inseam and outseam Rise Length Chest/bust Sleeve and shoulder measurements Additional points of measure based on garment category
  • Compare actual garment measurements against approved specifications and allowable tolerances.
  • Identify and document out-of-tolerance measurements and construction discrepancies.
  • Escalate measurement or quality concerns to Quality Leads and management.
  • Assist with additional inspection of product when discrepancies or recurring issues are identified.
  • Maintain accurate handwritten records and logs of garments measured, results, timing, and discrepancies.
  • Review English-language measurement specifications and accurately interpret apparel terminology and instructions.
  • Work closely with Quality Auditors, Quality Leads, and warehouse teams to support timely product inspection and release.
  • Maintain accuracy while working through high volumes of garments and multiple purchase orders/styles.
  • Perform additional quality-control duties as assigned.
