The Community Engagement Center (CEC) advances community engagement through a lens of social justice theory and social responsibility praxis, centering support around community-based courses, volunteering, and collaborative partnerships of faculty, students, and local community partners. The CEC aims to enhance the community-based research and teaching efforts of faculty and the socially responsible growth and development of course-based interns, volunteers, and work study students, to maintain respectful, reciprocal and quality collaborations with community partners. Reporting to the CEC Interim Director, the Office Assistant helps meet the dynamic needs of Pitzer College faculty, students, staff, and partner sites. The Office Assistant supports CEC staff with all programming happening in the Center. Support includes general office duties, communications to the Pitzer community, and engagement with Pitzer and the broader community.
