About The Position

Temporary Retail Associate (State Fair Dispensary) Pay: $19.00 per hour Job Type: Temporary Location: Onsite (State Fair Grounds; Sacramento, CA) The Opportunity Our Temporary Retail Associate supports embarc's onsite dispensary operations during the California State Fair. This role is focused on delivering strong customer experiences, executing sales transactions, and supporting high-volume retail operations in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, staying organized, and contributing to a team during a high-energy, limited-time event. Must be available from July 6 through August 2 and able to commit to working a minimum of 10 event days. Mandatory Training Dates: July 6-8 July 9-16

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in an active retail environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying shift lengths.
• Understanding that this is a temporary, event-based role tied to the State Fair.

Nice To Haves

• Prior retail, customer service, or cannabis experience preferred.
• Experience with Treez or similar POS systems preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned shifts in full.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and guiding purchasing decisions.
• Process transactions accurately using POS systems, including Treez where applicable.
• Verify customer identification and ensure all compliance requirements are followed.
• Maintain strong product awareness and support customers with informed recommendations.
• Support team operations during peak hours, ensuring efficient flow and organization within the dispensary.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards within the workspace.
• Work assigned shifts in full and maintain reliability throughout the duration of the event.
