About The Position

Dudek's Habitat Restoration Sciences (HRS) team is seeking a temporary Landscape Laborer/Habitat Restoration Technician to join their team in San Diego County. This role involves working outdoors on various vegetation management tasks, including weed removal, planting, and irrigation system maintenance. The position offers variable hours and is ideal for someone interested in California native and non-native plants and working in the outdoors. As a temporary employee, you will be part of a team working under direct supervision, contributing to ongoing growth and success in habitat restoration projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in landscape industry
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record
  • Ability to travel out of town/overnight
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, detail oriented
  • Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours and weekends
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Direct experience in habitat restoration, including planting, invasive species removal, and ecosystem management
  • Experience in the safe handling and application of pesticides, including compliance with local and federal regulations
  • Comfort working in outdoor, variable conditions and performing physically demanding tasks
  • Proven ability to work effectively in field teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholder

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with supervisor in installation of construction and landscape construction projects
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools
  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles
  • Perform highly physical installation work on a consistent basis
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Work as part of a team and take direction
  • Follow all safety procedures on project site
  • Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity
  • Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines
  • Complete project daily reports if needed
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by supervisor
