About The Position

Nami Nori is seeking personable and energetic candidates with a passion for Japanese food to join our team as Temaki Chefs. While no prior Japanese culinary experience is required, we are committed to training ideal candidates who are eager to learn about Japanese ingredients and cooking techniques. Nami Nori is a pioneering restaurant in New York City, specializing in open-style sushi hand rolls. Our core mission is to cultivate a loyal following for temaki through "omotenashi," the Japanese art of gracious hospitality, ensuring exceptional experiences for both our guests and employees. We have received significant popular acclaim, including features in The New York Times, Michelin Guide, and The New Yorker.

Responsibilities

• Making sushi hand rolls for dine-in and take out guests.
• Interacting directly with guests to enhance their dining experience.
