About The Position
This role involves performing various customer service and transaction processing duties at a financial institution. The Teller is responsible for accurately handling deposits, withdrawals, and other customer requests, while also promoting the institution's products and services. The position requires attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and cash handling skills.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Cash handling experience.
- Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for endorsements.
- Cash checks and pay out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
- Enter customer transactions into the computer system to record them and issue computer-generated receipts.
- Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
- Order daily supply of cash, count incoming cash, and handle large bags of coins.
- Balance currency, coin, and checks in the cash drawer at the end of the shift, comparing totals with computer screen data.
- Promote and cross-sell other establishment products and services such as internet banking, cashier’s checks, trust and investment services.
- Open new accounts.
- Load new accounts and perform account maintenance in the computer system.
- Remove deposits from, and count and balance cash in, automated teller machines and night depositories.
