About The Position

As a Teller at Embers, you’re more than the first face members see — you’re a trusted part of their financial journey. In this frontline role, you’ll deliver warm, attentive service while handling a wide range of transactional needs. You’ll build relationships through daily interactions, help members with essential services, and contribute to the smooth, secure operation of the branch. Whether you’re making a deposit, answering a question, or solving a small problem that makes a big difference, your work fuels trust and connection across our community. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and member service skills.
  • Solid math and cash-handling skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
  • Professionalism, demonstrating a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, email, and other relevant tools.
  • Willingness to assist others and contribute to a positive team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, or cash handling preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with credit union or financial service operations is a plus—we’ll train the right person.

Responsibilities

  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, cashier’s checks, money orders, and more with accuracy, care, and professionalism.
  • Balance daily transactions, monitor cash totals, and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain operational excellence and security.
  • Answer questions, offer guidance, and assist with account updates, safe deposit access, and general inquiries both in-person and over the phone.
  • Share helpful information and recommend services to strengthen member relationships and support their financial well-being.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure member privacy, regulatory compliance, and safe handling of all currency and negotiable instruments.
  • Help make Embers’ lobbies inviting and friendly spaces where members feel seen, supported, and comfortable engaging in their financial needs.
  • Project professionalism and warmth while delivering the kind of service that keeps members coming back and referring others.
  • Support the team with additional clerical tasks, drive-up service, night drop, or other responsibilities that ensure smooth branch operations.
