About The Position

A teller’s primary job is to provide excellent service to our customers & process all banking transactions with efficiency and accuracy, while following all bank policies and procedures. A teller will have extensive contact with customers and the public, and is expected to conduct all interactions in a professional manner that will enhance the overall reputation and image of the bank.

Requirements

  • GED/High School Diploma
  • Ability to operate a calculator, computer, and other office equipment accurately and quickly.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and be honest.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 6 months of Cash Handling Experience and Customer Service Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact with customers, greet customer in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals and transfer requests for checking and savings accounts;
  • Cash checks for customers and non-customers;
  • Process loan payments;
  • Process change orders and currency exchanges
  • Prepare and verify cashier’s checks
  • Run internal General Ledger transactions as needed
  • Redeem savings bonds;
  • Process night and mail deposits each day;
  • Balance cash drawers & vault daily with accuracy and minimal errors;
  • Provide customers with information on additional bank products and services;
  • Complete Compliance and Security training as needed;
  • Assist customers with general banking questions and account specific questions; assist with customer service requests as needed
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering internal and external phone calls, managing emails, & keeping a clean and organized workspace, teller drawer and teller line;
  • Prepare and Receive Shipments as needed;
  • Identify transaction mistakes when debits and credits do not balance ;
  • Follow all bank policies and procedures ;
  • Promote an inviting atmosphere for our customers and employees by having a good attitude, professional appearance and being a team player;
