About The Position
The Teller position involves processing customer transactions, managing cash, and promoting the institution's products and services. This role requires accuracy in handling deposits and withdrawals, maintaining a balanced cash drawer, and assisting customers with their banking needs. Additionally, Tellers are responsible for opening new accounts and performing account maintenance within the computer system. They also handle ATM and night depository functions.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Cash handling experience.
- Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for endorsements.
- Cash checks and pay out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
- Enter customers' transactions into computer to record transactions and issue computer generated receipts.
- Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
- Order daily supply of cash, and counts incoming cash, including handling large bags of coins.
- Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift, comparing totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen.
- Promote and cross-sell other establishment products and services such as internet banking, cashier’s checks, trust and investment services.
- Open new accounts.
- Load new accounts and account maintenance in Computer System.
- Remove deposits from, and count and balance cash in, automated teller machines and night depository.
