About The Position

At R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, a Teller’s primary focus is to improve the financial well-being of our members. This is accomplished through: Relationships: Building relationships is integral to the success of R.I.A. As a community credit union, R.I.A. Tellers will invest the time to get to know each member and take care of their needs while finding opportunities to improve their financial well-being. Responsibilities

  • Tellers must maintain high levels of product/services knowledge so, in-turn they can educate members and prospective members on such products and services.
  • Tellers interact with members and prospective members, specific to deposit and loan accounts. Since these interactions are in-person, creating a pleasant experience for R.I.A. members are vital. Interacting with the branch team and being present for meetings and continuing education with be an important factor to the success of a Teller.
  • Tellers will perform banking transactions including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, transfers, and various other financial transactions.
  • A teller must be able to assist in branch opening and closing procedures which may include processing checks, night drops, or stocking supplies.
  • As a not-for-profit financial institution we have a responsibility to uncover opportunities to improve the financial well-being of those we interact with. The most important characteristic of a successful Teller is their ability to find these opportunities and convert them into success for our members. Should opportunities arise to help a member with an additional product or service, the Teller should be referring this to the respective teams to act.
  • A strong understanding and adherence to compliance is a requirement for success as a Teller at R.I.A.
  • Must follow safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Maintain the security of your work area and keep it organized and neat in appearance.
  • An ability to balance and handle cash in a safe and secure manner is important.
