About The Position

The teller will process deposits and pay out funds in accordance with bank procedures, record transactions accurately, and balance each day’s operations while providing excellent customer service. This is a part-time position with varying hours, typically 20-25 hours per week, including rotating Saturdays.

High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
Must have cash handling and customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements.
Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.
Cashes checks for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policy.
Enters transactions into computer and issues customer receipts.
Counts cash balance at beginning of shift and balances cash and checks against computer records at end of shift.
Prepares certified checks, cashier’s checks, gift cards and travelers’ checks as requested.
Explains bank services and charges to customers.
Processes ATM deposits.
Observes suspicious behavior and report any such activity.
Assists customers in opening accounts and general customer service.
Balances coin machine, vault balancing including cash sales and money ordering.
Scans deposits and payment transactions.
Processes the renting, accessing and closing of safe deposit boxes.
Daily balancing of all monetary instruments.
Assists in balancing of the ATM.
Greets and refers customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.
All other duties as assigned.
